Introduction

Discussions is a board view and a dashboard widget where members can chat and discuss among themselves.

Features

Members of the board/dashboard can do the following:

Send messages on the board/dashboard.

Tag or mention any user in their message.

Add any emojis while typing their message.

React to the messages using emojis.

Reply to the messages in a separate thread.

React to thread messages using emojis.

Notifications go out to the users who have got tagged in the messages.

See “3 members are tying…” message in real-time if any of the members are typing in the same board view or dashboard widget at the same time.

Installation & Usage Guide

To install the Discussions app, go to Monday's marketplace and install it from there. After installing the app,

To enable the Discussions app as a board view -

Go to any board.

On top-left, where click on the view name.

From the list, go to "Add View → Apps".

Select "Discussions" app from the list.

Hurrah! You can now start using Discussions app and start collaborating with your teammates.

To enable the Discussions app in the dashboard as a widget,

Go to any dashboard.

Go to "Edit" mode.

From top-left, click on "Add widget" option and then click on "Apps".

Select "Discussions" app from the list.

In widget settings, click on "Done" on top-right.

Now you will get a "Messages sent" widget in your dashboard.

Click on "full-screen" option in your widget present in top-right to see the chat view.

Hurrah! You can now start using Discussions app and start collaborating with your teammates.

At this point, the app is completely free to use. Though, we plan to bring pricing options to those who signup after the first few weeks. So grab the offer while it lasts!
